"It would make me feel better," she said quietly, still looking just at him. And she was being as careful as she could be to make cleaning his wounds about her, in part because she knew it was true that he would be fine, but also to save his pride here.

She had heard what Thor said, heard what Loki protested, and simply put it aside for now. She was more concerned with what was going on here and now, since her faith in Loki was so deeply invested that hearing a different version of this pivotal moment hardly broke her out of her main concern.

"All right," he said. "If it will make you feel better." He forced himself to relax, and then turned completely away from Thor.

Thor had long since put his back to the couple- whatever this was, it was not meant for his eyes nor his attention. It was between lovers. Instead he did as he thought he should have in the first place, sweeping up the shattered glass.

Now Rogue spared a glance back at Thor and saw he was cleaning up the mess -- well, good. She continued to hold Loki by the wrist and gently tugged him towards the door.

Loki glanced back as well, and he managed to summon up a decent enough glare. But it felt hollow, even if the look seemed genuine enough. Now that the immediacy of anger was gone, he had larger concerns. What if Rogue believed Thor? What if she thought he was lying? No, she wouldn't do that. She couldn't.

He followed her silently.
